On Tuesday 20th of September 2022 the Sudanese Environment Conservation Society- Environmental Youth Forum-carried out a session entitled “climate change” at the society’s HQ in Arkweet. The speaker was Mohamed Abbas Mohamed; activist and environmental specialist, he spoke about the concept of climate change, causes, expected impact on the health, agriculture, forests, water resources, and biodiversity.
He also spoke about the implications of climate change on Africa, especially Sudan in terms of temperatures, rainfall, wildlife, etc…
Lastly, he explained the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), goals, concepts, and commitments.
At the end of the session the discussions and interventions were opened and many suggestions that support the climate change cause were discussed, like awareness campaigns to reduce the associated risks.
